Written in response to today's tabling of new anti-union laws ...
Said the gaoler to the sleeping giant
Your ties aren't tight enough
These bonds are very slightly pliant
You need a tougher cuff
Said the sleeping giant to the gaoler
There really is no need
For years I've lain here getting frailer
I've lost the will to leave
Janine will be
- performing poetry 15:00-15:20
- speaking about women in trade unions 17:00-17:20.
The event runs from 12:00 until 20:00 in Hackney Downs park, east London.
Others speaking and/or performing include:
Rabina Khan - writer, politician, former Cabinet Member for Housing and community worker in Tower Hamlets
Written in support of RMT's campaign to stop the (SNP) Scottish government privatising the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry services:
Our Cally Mac's for sale
Public service coffin's nail
We'll nae let fares go skywards
Piranhas 'neath the waves
Lurk hungry in the caves
We've seen your profit figures
- Gold diggers!
