A panel of three performing poets will talk about issues including: 1980s 'ranting poetry'; the misrepresentation of working-class poets; and rhyming solidarity from Poets on the Picket Line. There will be plenty of time for discussion, and our panellists may drop some rhymes as well.
Janine will lead a workshop about the social model of disability: what it is, why is it important, how to implement and fight for it.
My contribution to the debate on mental health at TUC Disabled Workers' Conference 2017:
I'm speaking in support of all the motions on mental health, but especially the one from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, as that is the one that acknowledges that workplaces are causing mental distress.
There is now a lot more talking about mental health than there used to be. That is very welcome.
Janine proposing a motion at RMT Women's Conference calling on the union to reaffirm its commitment to women's right to choose and access abortion, and to mark the 50th anniversary of the Abortion Act by ensuring that there is no return to the days of backstreet abortions. The motion was carried unanimously.
Janine will be running a workshop at this event.
Details to follow.

The overall theme of the event was Building an Autistic Community. It was well-attended, and after the four panellists had finished speaking, a lively question-and-answer session took place.
