Defending public services

Alexander Kirchner, Chair of German transport trade union EVG, spoke at ETF Women's Committee on 12 October 2015. His two key points were:

1. EU Fourth Railway Package

Janine giving a speech at the Sussex Labour Representation Committee (LRC) fringe meeting at TUC Congress 2015. The subject of the meeting was fighting austerity and defending trade union rights.

Janine Booth speaking at a meeting on Public Transit Struggles in London and Toronto in August 2015. The meeting was organised by the Socialist Project and also included speakers from Toronto-based campaigns for better public transport.

First, establish in the common consciousness that they are vermin,
A scourge on our civilised way of life.
Point out that jobs depend on it,
That the route of the hunt is the road to recovery.
Explain that the years without the hunt brought
A resurgence of uncontrolled, destructive, anti-social villainy.

RMT's Annual General Meeting, held in Newcastle 21-25 June 2015, passed the following resolution unanimously. It was submitted by Central Line East branch and proposed by delegate Janine Booth, who is also a sessional tutor at WEA London and a Unite member.
