North London supporters of The Clarion magazine are hosting a meeting with RMT and Hackney Labour activist Janine Booth, author of Guilty and Proud of it! Poplar’s Rebel Councillors and Guardians 1919-1925 (Merlin Press, 2009)

Janine's book, with a foreword by John McDonnell MP, tells the story of thirty Labour councillors who went to prison for six weeks in 1921 for defying the unfair local government funding system - and won!

We will hear from Janine and then discuss this inspiring story, and its lessons for our struggles today.

The meeting is on Wednesday 21 February, 7pm in the Wood Green Social Club, 3-4 Stuart Crescent, N22 5NJ. Everyone welcome.
