Young Quentin thought it would be fine
To walk across a picket line
'Cause if his workmates won more pay
He'd get the wage rise anyway
He would not make a sacrifice
And thought his bosses rather nice
So Quentin was most thrilled when they
Gave him a special job one day
Venue: Congress House, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3LS
Supporting you to support your learners
Unionlearn has long promoted the benefits of workplace learning and this event aims to help Reps explore ways to encourage learning for health, both physical and mental as well as discovering learning opportunities for health and well-being.
A poem in support of striking junior doctors, delivered on their picket line at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel on 10 February 2016.
Tell me Jeremy, with lives at stake
Aren't doctors safer when they're awake?
Would you have surgery from a doc
Who's been on duty round the clock?
Tell me Jeremy, tell me why
You seem to think that you can buy
Our doctors' lives, and their assent
For pieces of silver, a few per cent?
Are you free next Wednesday?
Sorry mate, I can not say
I won't be told until the day
And even then, you know I may
Still find that I am called away
